Alma, Portuguese for "soul," exhibits only the most primitive elements of UI design that must incorporate elements from developers and designers all around the world. With distinct logos for each piece of software, any UI can become cluttered very quickly regardless of how its container may look.

Coupled with evidence that app location is learned through repetition and recognition of major color groups, the need for complex and glossy UI features begins to diminish. What Alma does is distill each identity into its most basic components, colors and contextual indicators.
